Hypnosis: a catalyst for change

The word catalyst perfectly represents hypnosis. Whether used in the context of chemistry or as a person or thing that precipitates an event, a catalyst is an agent that promotes intentional and often accelerated change.

When hypnosis is included in the therapeutic alliance, it acts as an agent to help you access your inner strengths and resources so that you can proceed with making positive changes. I include hypnosis in therapy sessions to treat low self-esteem, anxiety disorders, fears and phobias, co-dependence and other issues of autonomy in relationships, grey area drinking, and to improve emotional regulation. Hypnosis is particularly well indicated for anxiety.

Elements from other psycho-therapeutic techniques are included in these sessions so that you can address your issues on a conscious level and gain the tools you may require for them with the added benefit of hypnosis reaching your unconscious mind.

Hypnosis sessions are 75 minutes long and are $175. They can be conducted virtually or in person on Roncesvalles Avenue. My services are covered by most insurance plans. Due to depictions of hypnosis in the entertainment field, there are many misconceptions about this well-researched modality. Clinical hypnosis bears no resemblance to stage hypnosis. I am happy to address any questions or concerns during a consultation.

Please note: I do not do hypnotic regressions of any type, or use hypnosis as a stand-alone practice without including cognitive therapy.
